Reef is two prints. The outer egg is pierced with around a hundred and forty rounded windows that shrink as they climb; inside it a smooth frosted sleeve sits on the same base ring. The sleeve is the point: it removes every hot spot a pierced shade normally has, hides the source completely, and lets the shell paint its cell pattern on the wall without glare.
Designer’s note
Every pierced lamp we looked at had the same review underneath it — beautiful off, blinding on. So we designed the diffuser first and the shell around it. The windows are soft-cornered arches, never flat spans, which is what lets both parts print without a single support. Lift the shell and the sleeve is a quiet lamp on its own.

- Bone matte PLA shell (shown) over a frosted or amber translucent PETG sleeve. Base ring in charcoal matte PLA. Colour options above; every finish is the material’s own — nothing painted or coated.
- Construction
- Two-perimeter lattice ≥ 1.7 mm; single-wall sleeve. Printed in one continuous piece per part, no supports, no glue.
- Light source
- Designed around a Ø80 mm LED puck light (USB or battery), which pushes up into the base ring from below. Light source not included — LED only, never incandescent or halogen.
- Light on the wall
- Cell shadows around the lamp; an even glow through the sleeve.
- Lead time
- Made to order, 2–3 weeks. Orders this week start on Monday 21 September and ship by 16 October.
- Care
- Dust with a soft dry cloth or a cool hair-dryer. Keep away from direct sun and heat above 50 °C. Indoor use.
